Most people would agree that a good leader is essential for any organization or company to be successful. However, what makes a good leader? Is it their emotional intelligence, intelligence, charisma, influence, power, or personality? In my opinion, personal experience and what I recently learned and realized, it’s none of the above. The one thing that trumps all the aforementioned is positive relational energy.
Leaders with high levels of positive relational energy are more successful than those with lower levels. They are more efficient leaders and have better relationships with their team members. What's more, they are able to achieve greater results while maintaining a positive attitude and having less drama within their teams.
So, what exactly is positive relational energy? It can be described as having a warm and caring demeanor towards others combined with an enthusiastic attitude. It’s about knowing how to communicate effectively, listen attentively, and show appreciation for your team members’ contributions. Positive relational energy is contagious, which is why these leaders are so successful at creating a positive atmosphere. Their optimism rubs off on everyone around them, making it an enjoyable place to work where people feel appreciated for what they do.
Leaders who exude this type of energy are a joy to work with. They have the ability to create a positive and productive work environment by building relationships with their team members. People want to be around them because they make them feel good. They are able to create trust and respect among their team members which leads to better communication and collaboration.
As a result, those leaders are able to get the best out of people because they inspire them and make them feel valued. The whole team performs better collectively than they would if led by someone without this type of energy. In short, leaders who exhibit positive relational energy create a winning workplace culture that benefits everyone involved.
