When I was younger, I used to think that trust was something that you earned by proving yourself to be reliable and consistent. I would put my trust in people who I thought were like me, people who valued hard work and always tried to do the right thing. But as I've gotten older, I've realized that trust is something that is given, not earned. It's something that you feel in your gut, not something that you think with your head. And sometimes, the people who you least expect to be trustworthy are the ones who end up being the most trustworthy of all. I've learned to trust my gut more and more, and as a result, I've found myself in some of the most beautiful, trusting relationships of my life.
